Care and quality instructions

How do I care for my hand towel properly?

You will be delighted with your new Weseta terry towels. But how do you care for your terry toweling properly to make sure it stays wonderfully fluffy and cozy even after many washes? The following tips will keep your terry towels, bathrobes, bath mats and plaids in excellent condition for years to come.

Washing instructions

Before washing

First things first: The care label on the back of the tag or the hanger contains all the important care instructions for your terry products.

Before you start the wash cycle, it is important that you sort the laundry into light and dark colors. The washing drum must not be underfilled or overfilled, otherwise pilling (small lumps on the fabric) may occur. The washing temperature for our terry towels is 60 °C. If desired, the white terry towels can also be boil-washed separately at 95 °C. The naturessa range and the dreamplaid 2.0 can only be washed at 40 °C. Important notice! To prevent snags, you should avoid washing garments with hooks, zippers, hook-and-loop fasteners, or decorations in the same wash cycle. If a snag does occur, you can simply cut it off at pile height, but never pull on it.

The right detergent makes all the difference

One of the most common mistakes made when washing is using the wrong detergent. Conventional detergents often contain optical brighteners. These cause the beautiful bright colors to fade or even discolor. Use a designated mild detergent instead.

The dosage also plays an important role. Too much detergent settles in the fibers and hardens the material. The color also loses its brightness. The correct dosage per wash cycle can be found on the back of the detergent packaging.

You should also be careful with fabric softener. Fabric softener settles on the cotton fibers and thus prevents the absorbency and water absorption capacity of the terry towel. Fabric softener also promotes lint formation. We therefore recommend using as little fabric softener as possible or, ideally, none at all.

Dry carefully

Mistakes can also happen during drying. Tumble-drying is the most suitable method. The air flow causes the loops of the pile to stand up again, allowing the terry toweling to retain its fluffiness. When using the tumble dryer, fabric softener can be omitted completely.

When drying without a tumble dryer, shake the terry thoroughly a few times before hanging it up. Do not store the cloths on top of each other for long periods of time. Do not dry terry towels on the radiator. This can also lead to discoloration.

Bathrobes: For a cuddly-soft experience

The care tips for terry toweling also apply to our luxurious bathrobes from the dreamflor, dreampure and dream royal lines. Please note: for reasons of hygiene, it is particularly important to wash the bathrobe before using it for the first time. We recommend washing bathrobes together with terry towels to avoid snags or other damage.

If you have a tumble dryer, we recommend drying our bathrobes in the tumble dryer for a few minutes and then hanging them up.

Terry bathrobes have a shrinkage of three to four percent during washing. When buying a terry bathrobe, choose a loose fit, as the product will shrink slightly after the first wash. In general, however, our terry bathrobes are cut rather generously.

Bath mats: Feel-good moments for your feet

With our dreamtuft bath mats, you can feel the Weseta terry experience under your feet. When it comes to care, the same instructions apply to bath mats as to terry towels. When washing, use mild detergents without optical brighteners. The correct filling quantity prevents excessive strain on the bath mat. After washing, you can simply hang the bath mat up to dry. Never iron or wring out the bath mat! Lint may appear after the first few washes. This is due to the manufacturing process and diminishes after a few washes without any reduction in quality.

Tangibly soft—for the long haul

If you pay attention to these details when caring for your Weseta towels, bathrobes and bath mats, you will be able to enjoy them for many years to come.
