Production

Weseta’s premium terry toweling is made from exquisite cotton and is produced in the only terry weaving mill in Switzerland. A cornerstone of our success is the typical Swiss combination of sophisticated weaving technology with knowledge acquired and developed over generations, as well as the highest quality and reliability. This production method makes each product incomparably soft, highly absorbent and particularly durable.

We produce high-quality premium terry toweling that is tangibly soft on the skin in a variety of sizes and colors. We do this with great passion and attention to detail.

Employees with that special touch

Well-trained and highly experienced employees with a great deal of tact and patience contribute to the high quality of our products. Weaving with cotton, a natural product, is a continuous process subject to constant change and improvement.

The interaction between man and machine enables us to achieve a consistently high level of quality for our terry products. Flat hierarchies and personal discourse play a key role here.

Production process

  • The choice of raw material

Carefully selected raw materials form the base for the unique Weseta quality of our terry towels. We use medium- and long-staple cotton, purchased by the owner himself. To guarantee top quality, we work with certified, highly reliable partner companies.

  • Spinning and twisting

To compensate for factors such as climatic fluctuations, different harvests are mixed before the fibers are spun into yarn. In the roving frame, the yarn is warped and sized in a starch bath to prevent it from breaking on the looms.

  • The weaving process

Weaving in Weseta production requires a great deal of experience and tact in handling the material and the machine. A special base fabric guarantees the dimensional stability of our terry towels. Thanks to the special Weseta weaving technique, a particularly soft terry loop with few twisted threads can be inserted into the base fabric. This is what’s behind the unique softness of our towels.

  • Dyeing

Our luxurious terry towels are dyed very gently with durability in mind. This means that they retain their beautiful colors permanently. After the dyeing process, the towels are pre-washed and machine-dried. As a result, subsequent shrinking is minimized and the towels retain their light, airy feel.

  • Sewing

At our factory in Engi, the products are hemmed and adorned with the appropriate labels. When sewing longitudinal and transverse seams, our employees ensure that the edges of the terry towels are sewn perfectly.

  • Quality control

Our attention to detail is what sets us apart. At the end of the production chain, each product is subject to careful quality control by our employees and assembled by hand.

Attention to detail

Terry products from our factory are woven carefully and slowly. We avoid compressing our terry loops on large, heavy rolls—another factor that contributes to the unique softness of our products.

Every single terry towel is checked for perfect quality by a responsible employee and carefully processed by hand—right through to delivery.
